Cleveland Browns -2.5

Ladies and gentlemen, we lost another coin flip last Sunday night with the Ravens -3. A tough one. That 4th down call to kick instead of pick up less than one yard and likely score a TD haunts us, but we will move on and get better. We’re due.

I’ve got two plays this weekend, one side and one total. First one: Cleveland Browns -2.5.

I know the Patriots are riding high after a 29-0 shutout win and I am aware the Browns have been abysmal against the ground game and that’s where New England thrives, but I like this spot for Cleveland to get back on track. To start this season, the Browns have been the unluckiest team in the NFL and the numbers prove it. The Browns have led in the 4th quarter in every single game this season and yet they’re just 2-3. They’re a few unlucky bounces and plays away from being undefeated, seriously. They have a very similar story to my gambling picks this season. We both get right this weekend, though.

This is going to be a heavy ground and pound game. These two teams are the No.1 and No.2 rushing attacks in the NFL. Cleveland ranks 1st in rush EPA and New England ranks 2nd. Ironically, both defenses are really bad at stopping the run, with Cleveland ranking 32nd and New England 27th. In the end though, I expect the Browns defense to do just enough and cause some problems for rookie QB Bailey Zappe, who’s making his first road start.

Expect a heavy dose of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt on Sunday and for the two of them to lead us to a much needed victory. The two workhorses are combining for about 170 rushing yards per game this season. I just think the Cleveland OL and stable of backs will control the line of scrimmage, the clock, and bring this home. This is undoubtedly a big game for AFC Wild Card implications.

Rolling with the Browns -2.5 at even odds on Prophet Exchange!

Chiefs-Bills Over 53.5

Now on to the main course. The game we have all been waiting for since last year’s EPIC playoff game between the Bills vs. Chiefs. The rematch is here. The 4-1 Bills travel to Kansas City to take on the 4-1 Chiefs.

I am taking the over in this game. Yes, I am aware this is the highest total of the week and this is the 3rd highest total on the season. If you like offense, this is a dream matchup. As a former wide receiver, I want nothing more than this game to feature fireworks all afternoon.

Both of these offenses are juggernauts, averaging over 30 points per game apiece. Simply put: these are the two best offenses in the NFL and the two best quarterbacks and it’s not particularly close. Just take a look at how special of a QB matchup this will be. There is Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and then quite literally everybody else in a tier below. This chart is courtesy of rbsdm.com.

During the Patrck Mahomes era, when the total has been greater than 53, the Chiefs are 19-13-1 to the over. Mahomes and Josh Allen have faced off four times in their career, including the playoffs. The over is 3-1. 60.25 points have been averaged in those four contests.

I am rooting for points, points, and more points this late Sunday afternoon. I am getting over 53.5 at even odds on Prophet Exchange. And you can too!
